Rev. Terry Fowler Appointed Chief of Staff

by Megan Alba Email

Rev. Terry Fowler has been appointed to succeed Rev. Mike Gray in the strategic position of Assistant and Chief of Staff in the Office of the General Superintendent.

Rev. Fowler has a proven leadership track record through his ministry in one of the largest conferences in the IPHC. He excelled in the South Carolina Conference as a pastor, a Conference Christian Education Director for eight years, and an exceptional Bishop for eight years. He also served on the General Executive Board, the General Board of Administration, the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees, four years as the Chairman of the Falcon Children's Home Board, and is concluding twelve years on the Board of Regents at Southwestern Christian University.

He is innovative, creative, administrative, devotional, and a true intercessor. He has developed the World Intercession Network (WIN) in a beautiful way during his five years as its director and has also excelled in expanding the Clergy Development Program since it was placed under his leadership by the last General Conference. He is a diligent student of the word and an excellent preacher and teacher. He has done exceptionally well in each of life's seasons and assignments. He will undoubtedly continue to do so in his new place of ministry.

Terry has a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Holmes College of the Bible and a Master of Ministry Degree from Southwestern Christian University's Graduate School with a major in Church Planting and Church Revitalization. In addition, he has just completed a significant two and one-half year program with Life-Forming Coaching and is now a certified "Coach Trainer." He brings a lot to the table and will be an excellent Assistant/Chief of Staff to the Office of General Superintendent. Terry and his wife, Imogene, have lived in Oklahoma City for five years. They have two grown children, a son, Welby of Columbia, SC and daughter, Terra, of Oklahoma City, and five grandchildren.

Mike Gray will continue to serve as the Assistant/Chief of Staff until the end of August during which time Terry will be transitioning to this new position. He will assume responsibility for the new office on September 1, 2010. Terry will also serve as the Interim Director of Clergy Development and World Intercession Network until the end of this year. Pray for Brother Fowler and for Brother Gray as they move to these new seasons of ministry in life!
